The New Notre Dame!

When I visited Paris in 2018, I saved Notre Dame for my last Sunday. It was a glorious summer day, musicians everywhere, and a fantastic roller-blade show in the street. But I was not willing to wait in the long line to go in. When the cathedral burned in 2019, I was happy to have seen it from all angles before the fire, but sorry not to have entered when I could.

It is truly amazing what was accomplished in five years to restore this cathedral. Ray and I returned to Paris in early May and got to go through the interior. I have added a gallery of some of my pictures, but if you get the chance, it is worth the effort.

Sorry, pictures are not very helpful in a space like this. I hope you get to visit it in person!

Visiting Notre Dame:

Free, Reservations required.

Reservations for time slots are available three days before your visit. You just have to keep checking the app because they keep adding new availability all of the time.

We didn’t find a slot because we were there on Victory Europe Day, a big holiday in France, and on the weekend. But we decided to go there and see how long the line was without a reservation. I checked the site one more time standing in front of the doors, and lo and behold, we got a time slot ten minutes later. Walked right in. It was great!
